No, that is not a typo that is my actual word count for today.
Day 1 of NaNoWriMo is drawing to a close and as promised, I am blogging my progress throughout the month. I started writing at midnight on my PHONE of all devices. As anxious as I felt in the final moments, I started feeling overwhelmed and thought I would just type out an intro to my novel. After what felt like minutes (but I am sure was much longer) I found myself in possession of a 1,000 word count document.
Not bad.
In order to complete the challenge of NaNoWriMo, each scribe must complete a novel of atleast 50,000 words in a period of 30 days. Do the math and that averages out to 1,667 words a day. That means right now, I am on track to finishing in 10 days. Not sure if that will happen but I have set a goal for myself of 5,000 words a day.
Today, I attended my first write in for the month. The Tuesday write in had a theme: childhood memory. Each participant was asked to bring an item or dress in a way that was reminiscent of of a childhood memory. I bough in Jean Grey’s Phoenix and WonderWoman.
Which resulted in me splitting the prize with another writer.
All in all I am off to a great start.
