Autumn stared at her computer. The usual executives walked by not once noticing her vacant gaze. As long as the work kept getting done, she could be in a coma at her desk. Little did they know in those moments, she might as well have been. She was beyond the cubicle walls, away from the desk crammed full of useless paper. Transported to a world not quite different from this one but not the same.
There was adventure and success that could not be mirrored here. It was not perfect but it was still better. The ringing of the phone jolted her back into this realm.
“Hello, this is Autumn.”
She answered the questions regarding invoices and the like and quickly got off the phone.
In that moment she knew what she had to do. There must be a way to merge that world into this one. But how?
Grabbing her pen, she began to make plans.
It would only be a matter of time…
